My role

Post-production, editing, design and animation

The brief

When Disney's Encanto hit theaters, they partnered with Google Maps to produce Instagram content that connected both brands in a natural way. The concept: Encanto's settings and traditions were based on real Colombian places and culture, so let’s use Google Maps to take a tour of those places while showcasing the app’s capabilities. They got John Leguizamo, the voice of Bruno, on camera to narrate the journey.

The execution

With the script written and the Leguizamo shoot wrapped, my job was to bring all the pieces together in post. That meant color correcting and editing the footage, cutting the movie clips, and assembling everything into a cohesive story.

My role involved creating some new pieces as well. The Google Maps UI throughout — navigation screens, map transitions, and Google Maps’ signature Pegman character — were all manually designed and animated rather than using screen recordings, giving us clean, controllable visuals that held up in the final cut while capturing the experience of using the app.
